Going to my favorite Thai place for lunch!

I love Thai food especially if it's super spicy!
There's that Thia place pretty far away from where I live or work and I was obsessed with it about two years ago that I HAD to go there at least once a week! And now I seem to be doing better with my obsession and only go there once every a couple months, that place is still my absolutely favorite restaurant in the whole world!

Got to leave soon and will update pictures if it's not too weird taking out my phone and starting shooting pictures in front of my boss and all the colleagues, haha.

Multi-gem cluster bracelet- perfect for the summer

Someone on Etsy once told me that I should make more bracelet. But I admit I'm lazy! A bracelet takes much more time to make than anything else and it can be the most complicated one in all the pieces. Finally I feel like making one and here it is.

I pick the orange and the main color of the bracelet, and decorated it with green and yellow. It's very summery and I fell in love with it after I made it, lol. I think I'm going to make more bracelet in the future because it's a good way of using up a lot of stones since I have sooooooooo many!

Zodiac sign and birthstone series

I've made uo my mind to make a whole series combining zodiac signs and birthstones! So far I'm very proud of what I have made and I'm want to keep the good flow going!

This is a big project and I hope I can finished it!

My latest piece in this collection: Cancer( Jun 22nd to Jul 22nd) sign with ruby. The zodiac sign of Cancer is like "69", so I hand made the sign and hammer it to strengthen and polish and then wrapped them together to from this unique pattern. I decorated the pendant by wrapping it with thin sterling silver wire and added little rubies here and there. At the bottom of the pendant, dangles a lager ruby onion briolette hand picked by me!
So here it is! Enjoy!

Gift for a friend!

This is a friend I sort of met! I know it's a weird statement but it is true. I knew her on a craft forum that we participate and one day she came to NY, and posted a picture of herself on the forum. And the next day, I had something to do in the Chinese embassy so I went to NYC too. As I was waiting, she walked in. I was so surprised to see her but since I've never actually met her before, I didn't fork up the courage to go up and talk to her.....
Anyways, I confirmed that it was her online and regretted it ever since. So we made a gift for each other. Here is my gift for her and to make up for her, I put extra thinking in there and made a pair of special earrings for her and her daughter.
I hand made and hammer a zodiac sign for aquarius ( her daughter's zodiac sign) and wrapped it with garnet rondelles( January's birthstone) and dangling from it, there's a blue topaz briolette ( my friends's birthstone). It came out better than I thought! I hope she would like it!

My most loved earrings of the day

I woke up today realizing that one of my earrings got 10 hearts! Yes, it was 3 in the afternoon, but what can I say, it's Sunday! Well I was nicely surprised and couldn't help wondering what happened until I found this wonderful treasury that featured my earrings!

Thank you for you kindness, vikkilenore!

I am very proud of this pair of earrings because I tried something bold when making this one! I wanted nice contrast as well as harmony in color and I tried to mix the gold and silver elements! And it came out perfect with vibrant mixed color! Please check it out!

And I'll be making more cluster earrings later on, please check back to my Etsy shop for more!

In love with oxidized sterling silver

Ok, I'm totally obsessed with oxidized sterling silver now! I admit that I had stocked up too much sterling silver wire( damn the silver price is going up fast) and I had recently realized that I can never finish those wires. Well, I'm always up to trying new things and the market price of oxidized sterling silver is even more ridicules. That's when I decided that I'm going to oxidize my own silver wire and bring down the cost. And it came out better than I thought the first try! I had successfully oxidized 5 ft of 28 gauge wire and several earwires.

Time to make jewelry out of them!

I looked through my gemstone box and decided the white flashy moon stone will go perfectly well with the black wire. So here is is, a pair of beautiful moonstone flower wrapped in oxidized sterling silver wire and dangle from my handmade elongated earwire. This pair of earrings is extremely delicate and dainty. It hangs beautifully from your ears and the white and black forms the perfect contrast!

And there are also the simplest designs! Just the oxidized sterling silver wire wrapped briolette earrings!

The intersting story of Ruby.

This is my very first blog post and YAY I finally have a blog now!

Ruby, the birthstone of July, associated with the zodiac signs of Cancer, Leo, Sagittarius and Scorpio, is one of the most precious gemstone. The name Ruby, is taken from the Latin word ruber, meaning “red”.

An interesting story I want to quote:
Known as the King of Gemstones since ancient times , Ruby has been considered to be a protective stone providing the wearer with benefits such as invulnerability and preserved health. In addition to this, Rubies inspire creativity, wisdom and love, as well as enhancing self-reliance / confidence and increasing spirituality. Rubies worn by men signified manhood and nobility. Rubies worn by women were said to invoke passion and power. Improved circulation is one of the major perceived medical benefits of Ruby gems. Fire, blood and warmth are further properties assiciated with the Ruby.

I'm obsessed with Ruby for a long while and it is truly beautiful. I'm think about making more ruby jewelry for people who are born in July. The dark red with sterling silver is just perfect!

And this my latest ruby item:
